Case Management Software Cuts Down Stress Of Bringing Legal Work Inhouse
Considering the economic conditions at the moment, it is unsurprising that many corporate counsel are condidering bringing legal work back in house (a few are, calling the process “insourcing” or “backsourcing”) in an effort to reduce costs. There is a lot of financial sense in this: Professional newspaper, The Lawyer states that “magic circle” associates these days are paid more than partners were in 2005, whereas hourly rates for city law firms are now between £180 and £550 an hour; far above the rates of an hour of legal work carried out by in house lawyers.

One of the speakers was explaining the advantages of bringing work back in-house, arguing that it let teams deliver a best value service to their organizations, use their expertise on a wider range of cases and tackle the more complicated cases. The significance of this aspect should not be overlooked – appropriately challenged staff are those who stay with your organization.
Bringing legal work back in house must be handled skillfully though. Put too much pressure on your in-house team with new work and you end up with unhappy staff, it causes reduced efficiency and a growth in errors.
Is bringing work back in house worth doing?
The Association of Corporate Counsel is flagging that an awful lot of organizations are selecting this option, implying that lots of companies feel it has a great deal to offer.
